ECOLOGICAL

PERSPECTIVE
GROUP 3
ECOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE

The ecological perspective indicates that

psychological factors can not be seen in isolation
but must be understood concerning other factors at
play within an individual’s surroundings.
For instance, a child’s development can be
influenced by their immediate family or caretakers
in the microsystem.
BRONFENBRENNER’S ECOLOGICAL
SYSTEM THEORY
Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory focuses
on the quality and context of the child’s
environment. He states that as a child develops, the
interaction within these environments becomes
more complex. This complexity can arise as the
child’s physical and cognitive structures grow and
mature.
