of the prophets Abraham and Ishmael
and those who have performed the
ritual that year.
SHAHADA (Faith)
 Arabic term for “Testimony or Evidence” meaning
Muslims profession of Faith.
SALAT (Prayer)
 Arabic term for “Prayer or Worship” meaning
Muslims daily prayer.
ZAKAT (Poor Tax)
 Arabic term for “Almsgiving” meaning Muslims
mandatory donations.
SAWM (Fasting)
 Arabic term for “Abstain for food , drink and sexual
intercourse
HAJJ (Pilgrimage to Mecca)
 Arabic term for “Pilgrimage” to Mecca at least once
in a life time if one is able.
