Present simple

general truths.

Usage of the Present Simple
1- Something that’s generally or always true.

e.g. Vegetables are healthy.

2- Situations we think are more or less permanent.

e.g. She works in a bank.


Usage of the Present Simple
3. Habits or things that we do regularly.

e.g. She studies every day.

4. Short actions that are happening now.

e.g. He passes the ball.


Future Uses
5. To talk about the future when we are discussing a timetable or a fixed plan.

e.g. The bus arrives in the evening.

6. To talk about the future after subordinate clauses of time.

e.g. She’ll call you when she has time.


Conditional use

7. We use the present simple in the first and the zero conditionals.

e.g. If it rains, I won't come.
