The film "Up" follows the story of Carl
Fredricksen, a widowed elderly man who
used to be a balloon salesman. In order to
fulfill a promise to his late wife Ellie, who
dreamed of visiting South America, Carl
attaches thousands of helium balloons to his
house, turning it into a makeshift airship.
Unbeknownst to Carl, a young boy named
Russell is inadvertently caught up in the
adventure as the house takes off.
The unlikely duo embarks on a
journey to South America,
encountering a talking dog named
Dug with a collar that translates his
thoughts, and a rare, gigantic bird
named Kevin. They also face the
villainous Charles Muntz, a former
idol of Carl's who has turned rogue
in pursuit of the exotic bird.
