INTRODUCTI
✔ThisON
project deals with experimental of on tribological behaviour of zro2
reinforced aluminium matrix composites
✔Aluminium metal matrix composites (AMMCs) is an aluminium alloy. It is
strong, with strength comparable to many steels, and has good fatigue strength
and average machinability.
✔ This work aluminum metal matrix composite (AA8050) reinforced with
Zirconium di oxide (ZrO2) by using the stir casting techniques.
✔Here, tensile strength and hardness were done.
OBJECTI
VE
As the coarse aggregate is high in demand, partially replacing the coarse
aggregate by globally available waste materials like plastics and glass in block. By
this, we can overcome the land pollution problem and reduction in cost.
SCOP
EPartially replacing the plastics and glass wastes in coarse aggregate can reduce the globally

available waste material

 This increases the life span of the product.

 Reduction in price of the materials gives better value for money.

 Use of glass waste increases the compression strength.

METHODOLOGY
TESTS CONDUCTED
✔ Specific Gravity Test on coarse aggregate & fine aggregate.
✔ Slump cone Test.
✔Water Absorption Test.
✔ Compression Test.
✔Abrasion Test.

 The water absorption test are done on concrete blocks.
 After completion of curing period i.e. 7th, 14th, 28th days.
 The blocks are completely immersed in water at
room temperature for 24 hours and noted as (W1).
 Then the concrete blocks are allowed to dried in a
oven
at 100oC for not less than 24hours and noted as
(W2).
 Water absorption = ((W2 – W1)/W1) x 100

OUTPU
TThe
 utilization of
construction
waste in replacement of coarse aggregate has a productive way in

industry and also it is a eco friendly material.

The replacement of coarse aggregate up to 60% increase the strength of the various test when
compared to conventional mix.

 The strength of the specimens increases up to 75% to the conventional mix with the addition of
glass waste and plastic waste.

✔ To reduced the amount of usage of naturally abundant waste material.

✔ Lightweight, when compared to traditional materials.

✔ It is relatively durable and has a longer service life.
35
CONCLUSI
ON
 The utilization of plastic waste in production of block has productive way of
disposal of plastic waste and glass wastes.

 The cost of block is reduced when compared to that of concrete block.

 The replacement of coarse aggregate to 25% and 50% plastic to the

conventional
mix.

 The compressive strength reduce upto 27.70%.

The compression strength test was getting increased at Mix 6. So, we get a good
compression strength while adding 50% of plastic and 5% of glass as the Mix 7
compression strength is decreased while adding 50% of plastic and 10% of glass.

WORK TO BE DONE ON PHASE
II
 The chapter presents that the details and test results of the experimental investigation carried out

on concrete block specimens with different ration on glass and plastic wastes.

The analysis of the structure will be done using STAAD PRO according to the structure whether it is

safe and reliable. Hence the design details of the commercial building is obtained. The drafting

works are done with AutoCAD. The structural designs of the structure is done with STAAD Pro Vi8.

 The shear force, bending moment and deflection occurred in this structure, caused by the loads
are within the limits, will be analyzed by using StaadProV8i software
WORK TO BE DONE ON PHASE
II
The chapter presents that load bearing capacity of concrete blocks using various ratios of practice, the

experimental and the calculated values of the tested concrete blocks specimens are compared and

presented by using StaadProV8i software.

The chapter of the thesis documents the results and discussions of all the analyses carried out viz.,

experimental, theoretical and numerical investigations and comparison of results are presented. This

chapter summarizes the conclusions drawn from the present work, contributions and scope for further

work.
