our youth must be Taken out from these
worldly values, be Blessed along with our

ABUNDANCE
The little of what they have from the
beginning towards what they obtain in the
gospel is a testament of what they really
“received”. As we see in the story, there are
twelve wicker baskets full of “what was left”,
thus what is in the baskets are not leftover but
ABUNDANCE of what they ABUNDANCE
gain.

The witness of Scripture is unanimous that the solicitude of
divine providence is concrete and immediate; God cares for all,
from the least things to the great events of the world and its
history. The sacred books powerfully affirm God's absolute
sovereignty over the course of events: "Our God is in the
heavens; he does whatever he pleases."162 And so it is with Christ,
"who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one
opens".163 As the book of Proverbs states: "Many are the plans in
the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will be
established."164

Jesus asks for childlike abandonment to the providence of our
heavenly Father who takes care of his children's smallest needs:
"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, "What shall we eat?" or
"What shall we drink?". . . Your heavenly Father knows that you
need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be yours as well."167

This Youth Way of the Cross is our yearly
participation to our diocese to gather youth toward
“Jesus’s Way” and it is our model as we journey to
our ministry. As a Youth Minister, ourselves (Extra-
time, Youth-full talent & Simple treasure) are our own
resources that can be multiplied to witness “His
grace”. Human’s capacity to has its limitation but
working & praying along with God’s providence
shows “His generosity”.

thousand men.”

CONTINUATION
The amount of the fish & bread that needed to be
consumed by the five thousand men are plenty and
requires a lot of resources. In the story, the
apprehension of the disciples on how they can feed
them is somehow relevant to our ministry’s uncertainty
of activities, formations & evangelizations for our
youth. Despite of the worries within the effectiveness
of each youth activities & formations, there is always a
point that the Holy Spirit will show how to
CONTINUE.

. Youth ministry, as traditionally carried out, has been significantly affected
by social and cultural changes. Young people frequently fail to find in our usual
programs' response to their concerns, their needs, their problems and issues. The
proliferation and growth of groups and movements predominantly associated
with the young can be considered the work of the Holy Spirit who constantly
shows us new paths. Even so, there is a need to look at the ways such groups
participate in the Church’s overall pastoral care, as well as a need for greater
communion among them and a better coordination of their activities. Although it
is never easy to approach young people, two things have become increasingly
evident: the realization that the entire community has to be involved in
evangelizing them, and the urgent requirement that young people take on a
greater role in pastoral outreach.

. To respond to our vocation, we need to foster and develop all that we are. This has
nothing to do with inventing ourselves or creating ourselves out of nothing. It has to do
with finding our true selves in the light of God and letting our lives flourish and bear
fruit. “In God’s plan, every man and woman is meant to seek self-fulfillment, for every
human life is called to some task by God”.[140] Your vocation inspires you to bring out
the best in yourself for the glory of God and the good of others. It is not simply a matter
of doing things, but of doing them with meaning and direction. Saint Alberto Hurtado
told young people to think very seriously about the direction their lives should take: “If
the helmsman of a ship becomes careless, he is fired straightaway for not taking his
sacred responsibility seriously. As for our lives, are we fully aware of the course they
are taking? What course is your life taking? If it is necessary to give this more thought,
I would beg each one of you to give it the highest consideration, because to get it right
is tantamount to success; to err is quite simply to fail”.

The Way of the Cross will always be our model
& inspiration to walk, work, pray & act on our chosen
vocation. The story determines the quantity of people;
hence it is beyond the capacity & expectation of each
youth minister to what extent our activity, formations
& action will have certain effect on them.
The necessity of the youth ministry for being
“open” to the “Gifts” of the “Holy Spirit” especially
to our chosen part, responsibility & vocation.
