Suppose the researcher conducts a study on the effect of
pellets as supplemental feed upon the yield of prawns cultured
in a fishpond.

Research Question: Is there a significant effect of pellets as

supplemental feed upon the yield of prawns cultured in a
fishpond?
Treatment Yields (kg)

P2 110 90 100
P3 110 130 130 110

5. Rejection Region.
The null hypothesis will be rejected if the computed
F-value is equal to or greater than the tabular value of the F-
test at 0.01 level of significance with df (2,6).

Interpretation.
The computed F-value is 18.0 which is significant at 0.01 level of
confidence. This value is higher than the tabular value with df
(2,6)=10.92. This means that the treatment on the different proportions
of pellets have a significant effect upon the yield of prawns. Thus, the
null hypothesis is rejected.
