Why a resume?
• Your resume is your marketing tool.
How to market yourself using
resume?
On your resume you should list
• Personal Information
• An objective statement
• Educational background
• Work experience
• Awards, honors and achievements
• Volunteer projects and involvement
• Leadership roles in extracurricular activities
• Special skills that differentiates you at job
Personal Information
• Your personal details like name,
number etc.
Objective statement
• In one statement briefly state your goal
and the type of job you would like to
be considered for.
• This may need to be changed for
different type of jobs.
Education
• Start in a reversed chronological order
Work experience
• In your case this will be fresher
Volunteer and extracurricular
involvement
• List all volunteer work you have done,
the year of it and the company you
have worked for.
• Name leadership positions and the
responsibilities of extracurricular
activities .
• Identify the total number of years you
have dedicated for such work.
Awards, Honors and achievements

• You may mention any award that you


have received for any field, be that
academics, sports or any other
extracurricular activity.

• This portrays your social image.


References
• References are not usually listed on a
resume
• Instead, at the end of your resume state
“references available upon request”
• However only put that statement if you
have reference, otherwise you might
end up being in trouble.
