“Love my enemies??

How is it possible?!”
Joseph was an
ordinary 17 years
old young man like
any other. He had
11 brothers and
was his dad’s
favourite son. His
dad gave a colorful
coat only to him.
He wasn’t liked by his 10
older brothers coz they were
jealous of him being daddy’s
boy. Also because, he
reported bad things they had
done to his dad.

Sometimes, we may also

face this problem at school
where we are liked by certain
friends or teachers. Other
friends may feel jealous of

One day, his dad told him to
send some food to his 10 older
brothers who were tending
sheep out in the field. This
could mean he were to “check
on” his brothers.

I believe his dad trusted Joseph

coz he probably had been
honest and showed
responsibility.
When Joseph’s
brothers saw him
coming towards them,
they planned to kill
him.

They didn’t kill him in the
end but sold him away as
a slave.

Question :

a manner, how would you
feel? What were your
thoughts?
Joseph went through so
much of injustice and
sufferings - he was sold
as a slave, accused of
something he didn’t do
and was thrown into
prison.

What are your thoughts
of God? Would you still
believe God is good?
During Joseph’s good times and bad times, the Lord never
leaves him but cause people to show him favor like his
master, Potiphar and the prison warden. He was made the
“leader” to care for their business.
Question :

So what can we say about God’s faithfulness and

goodness to Joseph even when he was facing “tough
days” ?
Genesis 39:

2 The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in

everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian
master. 3 Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord
was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. 4
This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal
attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and
everything he owned.
Genesis 39:

5 From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s

household and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s
household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran
smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished. 6 So
Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility
over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t
worry about a thing—except what kind of food to eat!
Genesis 39

21 But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and

showed him his faithful love. And the Lord made Joseph
a favorite with the prison warden. 22 Before long, the
warden put Joseph in charge of all the other prisoners and
over everything that happened in the prison. 23 The warden
had no more worries, because Joseph took care of
everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything
he did to succeed.
