Title: CFD Analysis Of Jet Impingement Over A Structured Surface
Introduction Schematic Diagram

• This project aims to combine advanced CFD analysis with real

world experimentation on jet impingement cooling methods to
enhance heat transfer rate and find optimum method. Early studies
on jet impingement method includes effect of various parameters
such as Reynold’s number, fluid properties, flow properties on
cooling rate.
• In the ever-evolving landscape of advanced technology and
industrial processes, the everlasting challenge remains, how to
effectively manage and dissipate the escalating heat generated by
increasingly powerful electronic components and manufacturing Fig. Jet Impingement Apparatus
systems. In response to this challenge, the technique of "jet
impingement cooling" has risen as a notable solution, inhibiting the
ability to mitigate thermal concerns through the precision of high-
velocity fluid jet dynamics. Jet impingement cooling presents a
potential– that of significantly intensifying the heat transfer process
while preserving system compactness and ensuring reliability.
• This research focuses on study of change of rate of heat transfer at
specific locations on a plate w.r.t. time. As plate cools down heat
transfer rate decreases, this study hopes to define that relation. It
also focuses on how different type of surface structure will affect
the rate of heat transfer.
