ASSIGNMENTS
 Model Making : Paper craft is a collection of crafts using paper as the primary artistic medium
for the creation of two or three-dimensional objects.
I have made a Pencil Stand and Flower Vase using colored and white A4 sheet and also used
quilling to enhance the pencil stand.
 Lines : In this we have been given a task to construct 30 , 40 , 45 , 60 , 90 , 180 degree lines and
heart shape, curve and zigzag lines using the set squares and T scale.
 Illusions : In this task different types of shapes we have constructed but actually it looked like
illusions. Unlike hallucination.
 Constructions : In this we constructed the following :
1.Bisect a given straight line.
2. Bisect a given arc.
3. Draw a perpendicular to a given line from a point within it.
4. Draw a perpendicular to a given line from a point outside it.
5. Draw perpendicular to a given line from a point outside it.
6. Draw a line through a given point, parallel to a given straight line.
7. Draw a line parallel to and at a given distance from a given straight line.
8. Divide a given straight line into any number of equal parts.
9. Divide a given straight line into unequal parts (1/2,1/3,1/4,1/5,1/6).
10. Divide a circle of a given radius into N equal parts.
11. Bisect a given angle.
12. Trisect a given right angle.
13. Find the center of an arc.
14. Draw an arc of a given radius, touching a given straight line and passing through a given point.
15. Draw an arc of a given radius touching two given straight lines at right angles to each other.
16. Draw an arc of a given radius touching two given straight lines which make any angle between
them.
17. Draw an arc of a given radius touching a given arc and a given line.
18. Draw an arc of a given radius touching two given arcs.
19. Draw an arc passing through three given points not in a straight line.
20. Draw a continuous curve of circular arcs passing through any number of given points not in a
straight line.
21. Draw an ogee shaped arc(reverse curve) tangent between two parallel lines

 Construction of Polygons :
1. Triangle
2. Square
3. Pentagon
4. Hexagon
5. Heptagon
6. Octagon
7. Nonagon
8. Decagon

CONSTRUCTIONS OF LINES
 Cube and Tetrahedron Model : In this we have been assigned to make 3D
models of cube and tetrahedron and after this we also made the isometric
model of these.
 Isometric View of Cube : have also made the cube which have one big flap
side of the box. I also made the different angle views for this model.
 Cylinder and Cone : It was assigned in the class to make 3D models of
cylinder and cone.
 Truncated Cone and Cylinder : A cylindrical segment, sometimes also called
a truncated cylinder, is the solid cut from a circular cylinder by two planes.
A cone section or pyramid lacking an apex and terminating in a plane
usually parallel to the base.
 Photographic Views : In this we have been assigned to make different
photographic view from different angles.
 Concentric Circles : In we have been assigned to construct concentric circles
by following method :
1. Concentric circles method
2. Loop of the thread method
3. Oblong Method

Understanding of these assignments
 From these assignments I got to understand that lines and shapes can be used to make
many objects.
 Lines and shapes are visual cues that helps to lead the eye activate knowledge.
 Geometric construction also plays vital role and let us know about the correct angles.
 I also learned all about the 2D figures and how it looks on paper. To know more about its
dimensions we made 3D models also like of cube , tetrahedron etc.…… Making of these 3D
models helped me to understand each and every angle very easy.
 Through these assignments I learnt many things like constructing , placing of different
instruments , accuracy , about angles and the main important thing I learnt was to make 3D
models.
 I also learnt from 3D models how to make truncated models of cone and cylinder.
 I used many different instruments for the construction of lines and shapes like set squares ,
T scale , drafter many more which I have never used and by using these instruments I got to
learn how these constructions can be easily done.
BENEFITS OF STUDYING
ENGINEERING DRAWING
ENGINEERING DRAWING SUBJECT IS VERY HELPFUL AND IT HAS HELPED
ME TO UNDERSTAND MANY CONTENTS LIKE ABOUT LINES , SHAPES ,
CONSTRUCTIONS , 2D / 3D FIGURES AND ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHIC VIEWS.
THESE CONTENTS WILL HELP ME IN FUTURE IN DRAFTING ON PATTERN
MAKING AND IN MAKING DESIGNS IN INDUSTRY ETC. 2D FIGURES WILL
HELP ME KNOW AND PLAN FOR MY PROJECTS BUT 3D FIGURES WILL HELP
ME TO EXECUTE MY PLAN WHETHER , IT IS CORRECT OR NOT.
I GOT TO LEARN MY MANY THINGS AT THE INITIAL STAGE AS IT IS THE
BASE FOR EVERY UPCOMING PROJECTS.
