SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR OUR

SCHOOL

A PROJECT PROPOSAL PRESENTED TO

INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY CLASS
QUIRINO GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL
WHAT IS THIS?

IS IT POSSIBLE?

HOW CAN IT HELP THE ENVIRONMENT?

Plastic waste
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

1. Reduce Plastic Waste

The primary objective of this project is to reduce plastic
waste by repurposing used plastic bottles into functional and eco-
friendly mini chairs.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

2. Promote Recycling and Upcycling

Encourage the community to participate in recycling and upcycling

plastic wastes.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

3. Provide Affordable Seating Solution

Provide a cost-effective and accessible seating option where
conventional furniture might be expensive or unavailable.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

4. Raise Awareness
Educate individuals about the impact of plastic waste on the
environment and the importance of recycling and repurposing to
mitigate this issue.
POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF THE PRPJECT

1. Reduced Plastic Waste

2. Affordable Seating Options
3. Skill Development
4. Environmental Education
TARGETS

• Plastic Waste Reduction:

The primary target of the project is to reduce the amount of plastic waste that
ends
• People inside the Community:

The project aims to engage the local community, including schools, local businesses,
and residents.
• Youth and Students:

The project targets youth and students, both as contributors to plastic bottle collection
and as recipients of the mini chairs.
BENEFICIARIES

• Environment
• Local Community
• Youth and Students
V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, INNOVATION, METHODS AND STRATEGIES

• The issue for plastic has gained significant attention in recent years due to its
detrimental effects on the environment and human health. In response to this crisis,
innovative projects are emerging to repurpose waste, including bottles and other
plastics into functional and aesthetically products such as mini chairs. Plastic
bottles and plastics as raw materials are ubiquitous in our daily lives, often used for
beverages, food, and various consumer products. These products are primarily
made from (Polyethylene therephthalate) and other forms of plastic polymers.
Utilizing plastic bottles and plastics as raw materials for creating mini chairs
involves repurposing and transforming waste into a functional and sustainable
product.
V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, INNOVATION, METHODS AND STRATEGIES

•The innovative approach of repurposing plastic waste into mini

chairs addresses the urgent need for sustainable design solutions.
This innovation contributes to reducing the amount of plastic waste
in landfills, schools, and other places, ultimately lessening the
environmental impact of plastic pollution.
V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, INNOVATION, METHODS AND STRATEGIES

• Repurposing plastic bottles and plastics into mini chairs involves several
methods. First, we collected plastic waste as much as we can and sorted it, we
cleaned the materials by washing them specially the plastic bottles and sanitized
it after. After cleaning and sanitizing the materials, we started to create the mini
chair by filling the plastic bottles of plastics as much as we can. We then glued
the plastic bottles with plastics inside together using tie wires and other adhesive
materials.
V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, INNOVATION, METHODS AND STRATEGIES

• In order to produce more mini chairs, we will collaborate with the school
organization particularly YES-O organization. We will also collaborate to
recycling communities and the local community that can help us produce more
mini chairs. To further advance this initiative, it is essential for governments,
industries, and individuals to actively support and invest in projects that
repurpose plastic waste into valuable products like mini chairs. Through
collective efforts, we can create a world where waste is seen as a resource, and
sustainable design becomes norm, ultimately mitigating the detrimental impacts
of plastic pollution.
