Examine this scenery and answer the following
questions in your activity notebook.
1. Are you familiar with the place?
Name it.
2. How will you describe the
picture?
3. What elements of art are found in
the scene?
Color makes our surroundings beautiful. It catches our eyes, so we
become aware of particular objects. Colors may come in a variety
of shades and hues. The three basic colors are red, yellow and blue.
They are called primary colors. From these basic colors, we
produce the secondary colors which are orange, green and violet.

By combining the primary colors and the secondary colors in equal

amounts will give us the intermediate colors namely the yellow-
orange, blue-green, blue-violet, red-violet, red-orange and yellow-
orange. To create artistic print works, applying the principle of art
which is contrast help a lot.
 This is because contrast can direct the eyes of a viewer to a
particular interesting point.
 Contrasts can be done by considering the arrangement of
opposite elements like small or large shapes, rough or smooth,
light or dark colors. The colors white and black show the
classical contrast. Complementary colors can also provide
contrast.
 A line is a movement of a point to another point across a plane
or a space. It becomes visible because it contrasts in value with
the surface on which it is drawn. One can make use of lines in
the images to be printed. Artistic ways of using lines can make
the images or prints attractive and interesting.

How does poor
environmental sanitation can
negatively impact
the health of an individual?
Guide Questions:
1. What can you see in the picture?
2. Describe the place in the picture.
3. Do you want to live in this kind of place?
4. Do you live in a place with clean water
and air?
5. Why is it important to live in a clean
environment?
What are the ways to keep water and air clean and safe?
• Air- is everywhere. It is more essential than water.
Fighting the problems associated with air pollution begins at home. Make
sure that your home or offices is well ventilated.
• Open the doors and windows to allow clean, natural air to circulate. Turn off
the lights and appliances that are not being used since less energy is less air
pollution.
• Outside the home, you can also support the efforts of the Clean Air Act that
outlines the government’s measures to reduce air pollution and incorporate
environmental protection into its development plans.
• Other policies include tobacco control and anti-smoke belching drives.
Reducing the emissions of harmful gases from motor vehicles, industries, and
households is a joint effort of your day to day decisions on energy use as well
as the government’s.
Components of clean air:
Nitrogen 78%, Oxygen 21%,
Argon, CO2 and
other gasses 1%.
 This will happen to our air if we keep on destroying it. It will give us
a dirty air to breathe.
 Water- 75% of Earth is water and it includes oceans, lakes, rivers
and streams. Plants, animals, and humans need it to survive.
Because according to others “water” is life.
While there are parts of the world where rivers and wells run dry
or carried in buckets from sources that are far from where people live,
others continue to waste it. Make sure you have access to potable
water and help make it clean. The best way for water pollution is
prevention. Preventing water pollution does
more for the environment by halting the level of pollutants where they
are.
 This will happen to our rivers and oceans if
we don’t keep it clean. And we will drink unsafe
and unclean water if we will not take good care
of our water.
