WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION

DAY

1
WHY WORLD NATURE
CONSERVATION DAY IS
CELEBRATED?
World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on
July 28 across the world in order to raise
awareness about protecting nature and
conserving our natural resources.

What is the Meaning of Conservation ?

Conservation means the wise use of
the earth and its resources for the
lasting good of making.
What is the importance of nature
conservation?
Nature provides us with all the essentials for our daily needs. Due to
overpopulation and human negligence we started to over-exploit our
resources. If this continues, there will be no resources left for our future
generations. The need to conserve the resources are:

1. To support life by supporting ecological balance.

2. To ensure that the future generations will be able to access the resources.
3. To preserve the biodiversity.
4. To ensure human race survives.

3
Nature causes caused by Human Activities
and why?
Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: Overpopulation, Pollution,
Burning fossil fuels, and Deforestation. Changes like these have Triggered climate
change, Soil erosion, Poor air quality, and Undrinkable water. These negative
impacts can affect human behavior and can prompt mass migrations or battles over
clean water. Humans are also responsible for causing changes in the environment
that hurt Animals and Plant species. We take up more space on Earth for our homes
and cities. We pollute habitats. We illegally hunt and kill animals. We bring exotic
species into habitats. All of these activities take resources and habitats away from
plants and animals.

How to conserve our nature

Here are a few things we can start practising as a part of the contribution
towards maintaining balance and practice sustainable life...

1. Avoid wastage of food, water, and items of regular use.

2. Save energy by switch off lights, fans, and air conditioners when not in use.
3. Avoid wasting water and close the tap properly after brushing or washing
hands.
4. Rainwater harvesting during the monsoon season
