Excretion
Sweat is excreted from the eccrine
glands are the main sweat glands in
humans. The eccrine glands, which are
activated by the hypothalamus, then
produce sweat and initiate sweating.
Sweat formed from water, NaCl, and
several other substances, comes out
along with excess heat.
Secretion
Skin secretions originate from glands
that in dermal layer of the epidermis.
Sweat, a physiological aid to body
temperature regulation, is secreted by
eccrine glands. Sebaceous glands secrete
the skin lubricant sebum.
Function
The main function of the skin is to protect the internal
organs, such as bones, organs, muscles, joints, nerves,
blood vessels and connective tissue. The skin also acts as
the body's natural protector from exposure to radiation,
toxic substances, and various viruses, bacteria, fungi, and
parasites that cause infection.
