west of Great Britain, the
capital of the county of
Merseyside. It is one of the
main British ports, known
for its culture, music,
football and numerous
pubs.

the UK. It receives more than 100 flights
daily. Manchester Airport is also nearby.

Liverpool is one of the five most popular
shopping cities in the UK. Here you can
find several new shopping complexes and
many shops throughout the city.
SECOND
Liverpool has regular rail connections to
London, Manchester, Birmingham,
Leeds, Newcastle, York.
FOURTH
Liverpool has a rich and varied cuisine.
The most popular dish is scouse (beef or
lamb stew). The city is also famous for
bars, pubs and local breweries.

The first mention of Liverpool dates
back to the 12th century. At the
beginning of the 13th century, the
settlement received the status of a
borough. In the 14th - 16th centuries
Liverpool was a small village with a
population of several hundred
inhabitants.

Level league in England, the Premier League. Liverpool was founded
In 1892 nearly 128 years ago ! Their home field is called Anfield,
And it can hold 45,522 fans in the stadium! That is a huge amount.

Everton Football Club is an English Premier
Football League club based in Liverpool. The club
has competed in the top division for a record 109
seasons and have won the League Championship
nine times. Formed in 1878, Everton were founding
members of The football league in 1888 and won
their first league championship two seasons later.
Following four league titles and two FA Cup wins,
Everton experienced a lull in the immediate post
World War Two period until a revival in the 1960s
which saw the club win two league championships
and an FA Cup

The Cathedral
The Cathedral is an impressive red
sandstone church, completed in
1978. It is the largest Christian
religious building in the UK and
the fifth in the world. The building
has a magnificent tower with a
height of 91 meters and an organ
that is one of the largest on the
planet.

Cathedral
Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral is the
main Catholic church of the city, which is
a striking example of modern architecture.
Initially, the Catholic community planned
to build a huge cathedral, which would be
the second largest church in the world and
would have a huge dome larger than the
dome of St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome.
The Second World War made the
construction project very expensive. The
construction site was abandoned.

The Church of the
Virgin Mary and St.
St. Nicholas
The Church of the Virgin Mary and
St. St. Nicholas is a neo-Gothic
building completed in 1949. The
tower was built in 1815. The
origins of this religious building go
back to the 13th century.

Merseyside Maritime
Museum
Merseyside Maritime
Museum - an impressive
collection of artifacts related
to navigation from the Middle
Ages to the present. It opened
in Liverpool in 1980. After 6
years, it was forcibly
expanded.

St. George's Hall
St. George's Hall is a neoclassical
building of the 19th century with
Corinthian columns and wonderful
statues. In 1836, the city authorities
decided that Liverpool needed a
building where concerts,
celebrations and dinners could be
held. From the inside, the building
is divided into a Concert Hall, a
Civil and a Criminal Court.
