ABSTRACT
Introduction Disruption of lipid profile which is characterized by an increase in total
cholesterol, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides, low value of High
Density Lipoprotein (HDL) increases the risk of CAD.

Method This is a retrospective study with data collection from inpatients at Prof. RSUP.
Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado from December 2021 to May 2022. Data analysis used
the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program with Pearson and Spearman tests.

Result No significant relationship : between HDL and Gensini's score (p value =

0.909), triglycerides to Gensini's score (p value = 0.061), and total cholesterol to
Gensini score (p value = 0.122).
Significant relationship : between LDL and Gensini score (p value < 0.05).

Conclusion There is a significant relationship between LDL and Gensini score in coronary
heart disease.
INTRODUCTION

Risk factors for coronary heart disease : age, education level, family income, diet,
exercise, smoking, excessive drinking, and elevated blood pressure and glucose

Major risk factors of cardiovascular disease : increased total cholesterol (TC) and low-
density lipoprotein (LDL-C) cholesterol and decreased levels of high-density lipoprotein
(HDL-C) cholesterol

Aim of this study : assess the relationship between lipid profile and severity of stenosis in
patients with coronary artery disease
