• Rosa Clemente has dedicated her life to

the silenced. Her dedication to activism,
journalism, and media commentary has
established her as a beacon of hope and
inspiration.

EVIDENCE
• Although she was threatened with being expelled, she still snuck on someone whom the school told
her not to bring. This shows how serious she is about being an advocate.
• She uses scholarships to empower the communities but to also understand that the communities are
consistently under attack.
• She talks about her self-awareness of her daughter and her husband and that it is important to stay
educated and she continuously talks about how the police isn’t on their side.
• “We have to understand who the most vulnerable people are because that is who we fight for the
most”
IMPORTANT TAKE-AWAYS
• Rosa Clemente is quite inspirational for seeing that she wasn’t taught much about herself, but now
is a big advocate in stopping that from happening to other people.
• I enjoy how she is naming things Barack Obama did that weren’t for what she stood for, it opened
my eyes. People indeed got blinded by the color of his skin and didn’t look into what he stood for
and did for this country.
• I agree that the country is too self-absorbed to realize what’s going on globally under our name. (for
example: this country is currently funding the genocide in Palestine)
• She said, “We can’t be scared of what is happening, we have to be politically educated.”
• Some people who fight for their beliefs do end up in jail, it’s important to know that.
• White supremacy also causes pain for white people who don’t know their history
CONNECTIONS
• The beginning of the video reminds me of when we were particularly learning about education. She
keeps repeating how she had to wait until college to fully learn about herself because she barely
learned about her descent in high school.
• She is very confident in herself and will do anything to spread awareness. She is a great activist and
reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr. because they are both great, inspirational speakers and would
do anything to spread awareness.
