Mobile Internet Devices and the cloud

Overview

A December 2008 Informa Telecome & Media study estimated that there are over 4 billion
connections to mobile device worldwide his figure represented 60% of the global population
today.

In some countries, millions of people are now experiencing connectivity to the world for
the first time through wireless technologies.

It is changing their economic, social, and political fortunes forevermore organizations are
deploying more and more Software as a service (SAAS) applications.

Imagine a future environment in which mobile device manufacturer partner with

multiple SaaS vendors to provide enterprises complete cloud based computing solutions
that work anywhere.

 Window OS:
 Window is an Operating System. It is a system Software. It
is developed and published by Microsoft. Window OS wase
released on November 20,1985.
 Microsoft Windows is user friendly, popular and most
used Operating System. Microsoft Window is a
graphical operating system, Through which the
user can easily start the computer play games, arrange files
and folders, open any software, Delete
files, watch videos, surf the internet easily.
History of Window OS:

 Microsoft ware Window was first announced on 1981 by

Microsoft ware company, and told that this operating
system would be Graphical User Interface OS.
 After this In 1983 Bill Gates announced the
Window Operating System. And Finally Microsoft Window
1.0 was released on November 20,1985.
History of Window OS:

 A lot of version of Windows were released since the first

version of Windows was released, In which Window XP
became the most popular.
 Currently the latest version of window is Windows 11
which was launched in 2021. Window 7 and Windows
10 were also very popular.
 Advantages:
1. Easy to Use: The Window Operating System is
easy to use as compared to other Operating system.
Window OS is user Friedly, you don't need to be
expert in computers. Even people with basic
computer knowledge will be able to use this.
2.Software Availability: It is equipped with a large
range of software. Window have large number
Widow OS: audience so developers prefer to make utilities ,
game and software for window OS.
3.Hardware Compatibility: Window OS supports
all computer hardware.
 Disadvantage:
1.Cost: Unlike Linux OS, Windows operating
system is not free of charge .Users need to buy
license to start using Windows OS legally. Most
window Software are paid. You have to buy these
Window OS: software or pay a monthly fee to use them.

more valuable experience into a person.
Mobile Platform virtualization

Two example of virtualization software

being used on smartphone are:

1.Kernel-based Virtual Machine(KVM)

2.VMware Mobile Virtualization

Platform(MVP)
 KVM is open software that is a full virtualization
solution for Linux on *86 hardware containing
virtualization extensions (Intel VT or AMD-V).
 KVM consists of a kernel module, KVM . ko,
which provide the core virtualization infrastructure.

Kernel-Based  KVM also contains a processor

specific module, KVM-INTEL.KO or KVM-
Virtual AMD.KO , depending on the CPU manufacturer(intel
or AMD).
Machine(KVM)  KVM also requires a modified QEMU.
 QEMU is the processor emulator that relies on
dynamic binary translation to achieve a reasonable
speed while being easy to port on new host CPU
architectures.
 Multiple virtual machine running unmodified Linux or
Windows images can be run using KVM.
Kernal Based  A wide variety of gith KVM ,guest operating systems
work with KVM.
Virtual  A wide variety of guest operating
Machine(KVM) system work with KVM, including many versions of
Linux, BSD, Solaris , Windows, React OS and the
AROS Research Operating System.

(KVM)
Architecture
 VMware Mobile Virtualization Platform (MVP) is a
thin layer of software that is embedded on a mobile
phone to separate the applications and data from the
underlying hardware.
 It is optimized to run efficiently on low power, low-
VMware Mobile memory mobile phones.

Virtualization  VMware MVP benefits end users by being able to run

multiple profiles(e.g. one for personal use and one for

work use) on the same phone.
VMware MVP allows vendors to isolate important
trusted services from the open operating system and
run them in isolated and tamper-proof virtual machine
so that even if the open environment is compromised
the trusted service are not affected.
 Mobile users with intermittent access to the internet
VMware Mobile can use VMware ACE to deploy "assured computing
environment" (ACEs) that workers can use on
Virtualization corporate-owned laptops. Employee-owned PCs , or
even iPods and USB memory sticks without putting
Platform (MVP) sensitive corporate information at risk.
