PPE 101 (FITNESS AND EXERCISE MANAGEMENT

UNIT 2
UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BODY IN RELATION TO
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
LEARNING OUTCOMES

 Demonstrate an understanding of how human movement serves as a

mechanism for physical activities;

 Classify the various musculoskeletal and movement planes.

 Determine the observed movement concerning its planes.

INTRODUCTION

Movements are the human brain communicating with the outside world. The
movements we make result from responses from our brain to various stimuli. The
contraction and relaxation of our muscle results in movements that cause changes in our
bodies, such as the displacement of parts in response to external stimuli and forces. In
this lesson, we will learn about how movement occurs in the human body by
understanding human muscles and different planes of movement.

MOVEMENT DISCRIPTION

We understand our movement by

classifying it in the functional
terminology anatomy and basic
biomechanics movement 2. The second movement of
classifications that we need to be body parts is moving away from
conscious of are: the body'scenter line.

1.The First movement has to do 3.The third movement involves

with bending and straightening, body parts rotating in place.

B. SPECIALIZED MOVEMENT
 Z

This type of motion requires using skeletal muscles, which leads to a unique perspective and
orientation during the actual motion.
