CHAPTER:7 CONTROL AND

COORDINATION

NAME : V.LOGITHA
CLASS : ‘X’
SEC : ‘B’
AGENDA

STIMULI
COORDINATION
NEURON
REFLEX ACTION
BRAIN
STIMULI
The changes in the environment to which
living organisms respond
Example :
Smell
Sound
COORDINATION

The working togrther of various organs in an

organisms to produce a proper reesponse to the
stimuli
Neuron structure
Nervous tissue

Nerve tissue is made up of an organised network of

nerve cells or neurons .

It is specialised for conducting information via

electrical impulse from one part of body to another
part
Neuro muscular junction
Receptors

They are the sense organs which reiceive the stimuli and pass the
message to the brain or the spinal cord through sensory nerves .

five types of receptors :

Photo Receptors
Phono Receptors
Gustatory Receptors
Olfactory Receptors
Tango Receptors
Reflex action

It is a sudden and
involuntary
response to a stimuli
it helps organisms to
quickly adapt to
adverse automatic
circumstance.
The pathway of reflex action is called reflex arc
Relay Neuron

Relay neuron in spinal cord receives electriacl impulses from a

sensory nerve

Sensory neurons and motor neurons are connected by relay

neurons
Human brain structure
Human Brain

The three major types of brain are :

Fore Brain - Consists of Cerebrum and olfactory lobe

Mid Brain - Controls involuntary actions
Hind Brain - Consists of cerebellum , pons , medulla
Brain is covered with three membranes called as menings.

Brain is protected by the cerebrospinal fluid

Hypothalmus is a part of the hind brain which controls the urge

of eating
