SEXUAL REPRODUCTION
Two parent organisms are involved-the male and female.
When an egg cell unites with the sperm cell, a zygote
(new cell) is formed.
is a process of creating offspring with the participation of
sperm cell from the male parent and egg cell from the
parent.
FERTILIZATION
inside and outside the body are two general modes of
sexual reproduction. The expected offspring may have
separate (single) sex or combined sexes spending on
the species.
Unique individual possessing different characteristics is
produced in sexual reproduction because the genetic
materials of the parents are blended (combined).
FERTILIZATION
Through the process, the offspring is thought to give
sexually reproducing individuals with greater fitness to
be mechanism to survive and reproduce in an
unpredictable or changing environment.
TWO WAYS
Sexual Reproduction
Internal Fertilization
 is the union of an egg and sperm cell during the sexual
reproduction inside the female body.
 occurs within the body of the female. It takes place
when a specialized sex organs transfers the sperms
from the body of the male into the body of the female.
External Fertilization
Is a mode of reproduction in which a male organism’s
sperm fertilizes a female organism’s egg outside of the
female’s body.
The eggs are fertilized in the environment, outside the
body of the female. It usually occurs in the most aquatic
invertebrates, all fish in general, except for sharks, rays
and many amphibians.
