EYES ON JESUS
Objectives:
• discover the importance of
keeping their eyes on Jesus and
their faith in Him to avoid falling
into trouble.
One evening, after Jesus had been
teaching a large crowd, He told His
disciples to get into a boat and go to the
other side of the sea. Jesus stayed
behind to pray alone.
Later that night, the disciples' boat was
far from land, and a strong wind was
blowing. The disciples were scared when
they saw Jesus walking on the water
towards them. They thought He was a
ghost and were very afraid.
But Jesus called out to them, saying,
"Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
Peter, one of the disciples, said, "Lord, if
it's really you, tell me to come to you on
the water.".
"Come," Jesus said.
So, Peter got out of the boat and
started walking on the water towards
Jesus. But then, he saw the wind and got
scared. He began to sink and cried
out, "Lord, save me!"
Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand
and caught Peter. Jesus said to him, "You
of little faith, why did you doubt?" They
both climbed into the boat, and the wind
died down. Then the disciples worshiped
Jesus, saying, "Truly you are the Son of
This story shows us that when we have
faith in Jesus, even when things seem
impossible or scary, He is there to help us
and keep us safe.
Memory Verse
"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and
perfecter of faith, who for the joy set
before Him endured the cross, despising
the shame, and has sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God."
