communication and problem solving skills.
· Students will be able to identify ways to make it easier for others to ask
for help

our academic and social development. It
encourages self-awareness, problem-solving,
and effective communication. By learning how to
ask for help, people become more confident

“Help Out” Activity:
(20 minutes)
Directions: Break into pairs.. Each pair will consist of a “Student” and a “Teacher.”
Look at the list of common academic and social situations in which someone might
need help:
Not understanding a math problem
Needing assistance with a group project
Feeling overwhelmed by an assignment

Each “Students” chooses one situation from the list and practices asking their “Teacher” for help using

clear and concise language.

Remember the teacher should respond with empathy and offer guidance and support. In a few minutes

partners will switch roles.
