Catch-Up Fridays

Introduction
You are about to demonstrate the feeling of
gratitude for the people around you. You will also
discover the feeling when people appreciate
even the simplest thing you do for them.
Objectives:
• Activate interest and motivate students to read.
• Enhance the speed, accuracy, and reading
comprehension.
• Create a feeling of appreciation in their everyday lives.
Pre-Reading
• The teacher will play the video of the
song “Thanks to you” which is related to
the activity that will be done later.
Pre-Reading
• Allow learners to be familiar with the
song
• Ask the learners (enthusiast and leaders)
to sing along while the music plays.
During
Reading
• The teacher will ask students to form a big
circle
• Everybody should have a clean bondpaper
and a pen and let them write their name on top
During
• The teacher will play the music again (Thanks to
Reading
you) and students will pass the paper clockwise.
• When the music stops, the student should write a
“Thank you note” on the paper that he/she is
holding.
During
Reading
• Let them do the same procedure until
everybody gets the chance to write on
each other’s paper.
Post-Reading
• Select 5 students (enthusiast) to read their
“Thank you note” in front of the class.
• The teacher will ask the following
questions:

What did you feel after you read
the “Thank you note” from your
classmates?

Why is it important that we should


always be thankful even in the
simplest thing that we had?
