OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are
expected to:
1. differentiate the hazard and risk;
2. Identify and analyze the different hazard
that can be seen in the workplace;
3. Demonstrate hazard and risk.
MOTIVATION
Mechanics:

1. The teacher will call five (5) groups of students with two (2) members each
group.
2. Each of the grouped students will be assigned to form one puzzle into a
picture of something that may cause harm.
3. The teacher will ask students what they have formed and how are these
pictures related to the topic for today.
* the song “Bahay Kubo” that will be sung by their classmates will serve as their
timer.

Have you ever wondered what is a difference
between hazard and risk?
• A Hazard is something that can cause harm, e.g.
electricity, chemical, working up a ladder, noise, a
keyboard, a bully at work, stress, etc
• A Risk is the chance, high or low, that any hazard
will actually cause somebody harm

GENERALIZATION
There are (5) classification of hazard in the
workplace. The chemical, physical,
biological, ergonomics and psychological
hazard all of which have a great help in
avoiding accidents/ in the workplace.

Group Activity: Identify hazard in the workplace
Instruction: In the area assigned to your group, list all the hazards that
you can identify and explain it correctly.

Procedure:
1. Look around the place assigned to you and identify five (3) hazards
that you can see.
2. Classify these five workplace hazards. (biological, chemical, physical,
ergonomic, psychological)
3. Give examples of the harm that these hazards may cause.
