What is a computer?
AN ELECTRONIC MACHINE THAT CAN
STORE, FIND AND ARRANGE
INFORMATION, CALCULATE AMOUNTS
AND CONTROL OTHER MACHINES.
COMPUTER PERFORMS BOTH SIMPLE
AND COMPLEX OPERATIONS WITH
SPEED AND ACCURACY.

SPEED
A computer works with much higher
speed and accuracy compared to
humans while performing
mathematical calculations.
Computers can process millions of
instructions per second. The time taken
by computers for their operations is
microseconds and nanoseconds.
 ACCURACY
 Since computer is programmed, so
whatever input we give it gives result
accurately
 Computers perform calculations with
100% accuracy. Errors may occur due
to data inconsistency or inaccuracy.
STORAGE
Computer can store mass storage of data
with appropriate format.
Storage is a mechanism that enables a
computer to retain data, either temporarily
or permanently.
Storage may also be referred to as computer
data storage or electronic data storage.
DILIGENCE
Computer can work for hours without any
break and creating error.
A computer can perform millions of tasks or
calculations with the same consistency and
accuracy.
It doesn’t feel any fatigue or lack of
concentration. It’s memory also makes it
superior to that of human beings.
VERSATALITY
Versatility refers to the capability of a computer to
perform different kinds of works with same
accuracy and efficiency.

EXAMPLE
In online examinations, computers perform
multiple tasks like uploading question papers,
collect submitted papers, allocate correct and
accurate papers to all students, and so on.
POWER OF REMEMBERING

Computer has the power of storing huge

amount of information or data.
Information can be stored and recalled as
long as u require it, for any number of
years. It depends entirely upon us, how
much data we want to store in a computer
and when to use or retrieve these data.
NO IQ
 Computeris a machine and it cannot do
any work without instructions from the
user.
 Computer has to be guided as to what you
want to do and in what sequence.
 A computer cannot take its own decision
as you can.
NO FEELING
Computer does not have feelings or
emotion, taste, knowledge and
experience.
Thus it does not get tired even after
long hours of work. It does not
distinguish between users.
