A main factor influencing the decrease of the number of
specimens of a certain species in the excessive deforestation and the destruction of the areas protected by poaching.Thousands of rare animal species species are endangered due to the fact that they are hunted or no longer have the necessary source of plants (some animals) to feed ,because those plants have also been destroyed by humans.Governments have banned the sale of aligator skins, vicuna ,koala and elephant ivory, turtle shells etc. However some do not fo Blue whale • There was a time when the blue whale was found in every ocean and deep sea in the world. But the arrival of the whaling era had reduced their numbers so drastically that blue whales are on the verge of extinction today. The reason for whaling are many.Their gigantic size erroneousily led sailiors to belive that sucha large animal could be a deadly threat at sea. They were also hunted for the fat and meat of this oceanis mammal. At first, whaling was limited by primitivemethods and whaling techniques,so the damage to this species was controllable. But with the advent of powerful harpoons ,motor boats and stern puppets in whaling vessels, this unwanted phenomeon has taken off, with whales being hunted at an alarming rate .IN 1931 alone 29,649 whales was killed • Blue whales also have a rhythm slow reproduction.Afemale gives birth only once every two years. This means that the rate of extinction of the blue whale population can’t be counteracted by an increase intheir number through reproduction. Elephant • Elephant extinction rate africans ,following poaching ,is 8% ,up from7.4% in 1989,when restrictions were imposed on international trade in invory, reports the Telegraph. • Moreover, the demand for ivory has inccreased in some places in the world such as China ,Japan and United States. • In 1989s, there weree about 1 million specimens in the world with 70,000 elephants was killed annually ,currentely, there are less thaan 470,000 copies in the world. • Elephant poaching has negative impact on their ecosystem and other elemets of the fauna that depend on it.To these are added the loss of income resulting from ecotourism ,practiced in many African countries. Koala • The koala ,Australia’s iconic teddy bear ,is in danger of extinction in the next century due of global warming .Koales have a diet consisting of eucalyptus leavels ,and increasing thee level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere decreases the nutritional value off the leaves ,leading to malnutrition and hunger for koala .Longer and frequent droughts increase the fires of vegetation, which kill milions of animal living in forests ,such as the Koala. Monarch butterfiles • Are famous for their impressive migrations from north America to Mexico, which lasts 8 weeks .Like all butterfiles the monarch is very sensitive to wheather and climate .The increased freqency of extreme wheather events threatens the futureof this species .In addition ,in the caterpillar stage, the monarch eats only lettuce, and as the climate continues to warm, the range of the butterfly becomes drier ,leading slowly to the extinction
