Main components of nuclear reactor systems :

Condenser : has the effect of cooling steam to pump it into water

Reactor Vessel : is where nuclear fuel rods, such as uranium or plutonium, are stored, with which nuclear reactions occur
Pressurizer: is part of the system control system in a nuclear reactor
Containment structure : Limit the spread of toxic substances and radiation into the environment
Turine and generator :Turbine and generator are placed outside the concrete structure. Turbine is coupled with the
generator and runs it when driven by the steam.
•Absorb heat from the fission reaction of nuclear fuel.
•Generate steam in the heater using the previously obtained
heat.
•Rotate the turbine using the steam generated above.
•Utilize the mechanical energy of the turbine to run a generator.
This generator will generate electricity.

Advantages of Pressurized Water Reactor Disadvantages of Pressurized Water Reactor

•As water is used as moderator and coolant it is very cheap. •Low thermal efficiency.
•It is smaller in size than other types of nuclear reactors. •Additional heat loss occurs at the heat exchanger.
•This can be easily converted into breeder reactor by •More safety precautions should be taken.
surrounding the fuel rods with U-238.
Advantages of Boiling water reactors Disadvantages of Boiling water reactors
•Less costly than the PWR reactors. •Since same water performs the functions of moderator, coolan
•Due to the absence of heat exchanger, it is more efficient than and working fluid, it will be highly radioactive and all the
the Pressurized water reactors. equipments including the turbine and condenser need to be
•More stable than PWR. properly shielded.
•It is not suitable to meet the sudden increase in load.
