RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

• Determine the existing reading comprehension skills of ALS learners

to establish a baseline for improvement.
• Investigate the factors hindering effective reading comprehension
among ALS learners.
• Create targeted reading strategies specially designed for ALS
considering their unique needs, backgrounds and l learning style.

the DepEd on 30 June 2016, she identified
ALS to be among her priority programs. No
less than the Constitution, and various
education laws and international
commitments, direct the provision of ALS.
1987 Constitution Article XIV Education,
Science and Technology, Arts, Culture and
Sports
The area of focus for this research project is
improving reading comprehension of the
learners. Without a solid foundation of reading
skills, the teacher researchers feel children will
struggle throughout their schooling and adult
life.By learning the best comprehension
strategies and how to best teach these strategies
to the students, the researchers hope to provide
the solid foundation needed to succeed.
 Action Research Questions
Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1.What is the level of performance of 17 ALS Learners

in Dig-aguyan CLC in terms of vocabulary skills before
and after the Implementation of the intervention?

2.What specific strategies that best impact to

empower ALS learners in enhancing their reading
comprehension skills?
