- To make sure that the students know what to do before
they start.
- To check things that the students are likely to do wrong.
- To allow students a chance to process the instructions.
- To check understanding of all relevant aspects of the task.

- Draw attention of the whole class. This is very
important. (where to stand?)
- Use simple language and avoid complicated
one.
- Slow down your speech.
- Use body language.
