SUM DOG
ICT TOOLS IN Sum Dog is a scientifically proven and evidence-based digital
M AT H E M AT I C S learning tool that engages students in interactive mathematical
T H AT D E V E L O P S activities. It is aligned to the Common Core and key state
CRITICAL standards. It adapts lessons to meet individual student needs as
THINKING well as providing progress reports to assess mastery of learning
standards.
SKILLS
In the math classroom, students can get on Sum Dog to practice
learned skills independently after a mini-lesson. They can use the
progress reports to reflect on their learning and set their own pace.
Teachers may use the assessment data to guide their lessons and to
provide differentiated instruction based on needs of individual
student.

Google Classroom
ICT TOOLS IN Google Classroom is another great resource for classroom management and
student collaboration. Using this service, teachers can create classes, post
M AT H E M AT I C S
announcements, add a class resource page for their students, create and
T H AT assign homework, and record assessment data. Students are able to share
DEVELOPS their work and collaborate electronically.
CRITICAL By creating a math class and uploaded videos that can then be used as
THINKING flipped classroom lessons. Watching the videos will allow students to learn
SKILLS about the lesson topic and complete the assignment that is posted in the
Google Classroom. Students have the option to work in small groups or
work independently. They can also share their work with others around the
world, which makes it easy to connect and collaborate both within and
beyond the classroom setting.

ever to bring this into your classroom.
TOOLS TO BE USED
TO DEVELOP • Use MindMeister, a simple and easy to implement
CRITICAL mind mapping tool, to encourage students to think

CRITICAL
THINKING SKILLS Whooo’s Reading, an online reading log, not only requires
students to answer open-ended questions, but every
automatically prompted question is Common Core-

H O W T O S O LV E Parents should play a big roles in this
THESE matter. They should encourage their children to
