Function of the Respiratory System

The Respiratory System’s main job is to move fresh


air into your body while removing waste gases. Once
in the lungs, oxygen is moved into the bloodstream
and carried through your body. At each cell in your
body, oxygen is exchanged for a waste gas called
carbon dioxide.

2 Diseases of the R. S.

Bronchithis:
Bronchitis is a condition that develops when the
airways in the lungs, called the bronchi, become
inflamed and cause coughing, often with production of
mucus. Bronchitis can be acute (short-term) or
chronic (long-term).
Asma:
It's a chronic disease that causes the airways in the
lungs to become swollen and narrow. This causes
shortness of breath such as wheezing, shortness of
breath, chest tightness, and coughing

Don’t smoke.
Avoid harmful enviromental factors such as smoke,
dust and chemicals.
Eat a healthy diet.
