WEEK-1

Advanced C Programming

• ARRAYS and FUNCTIONS

• STRUCTURES
• POINTERS
• STRINGS
ARRAYS AND FUNCTION IN C PROGRAMMING : /05
 Array is a collection of similar type of data stored at contiguous memory location. Arrays
are typically defined with square brackets [].
 SINGLE DIMENSIONAL ARRAY : This type of array consists of elements of similar
types and these elements can be accessed through their indices , Ex: int arr[n].
 MULTI-DIMENSIONAL ARRAY : The most common type of multi-dimensional array
that is used the C language is a 2-d array . Example: An array that consists of rows and
columns . A two dimensional array consists of a certain numbers of rows and columns.
 FUNCTION: Function is a block of codes that performs some specific tasks or
computation and gives the output results .every C-program has at least one main ( )
function.
 Elements of user defined functions are :
 Function declaration ,Function calling , Function definition.
STRUCTURES:
/06
Definition:
A structure in C is a user defined data type that can be used to group
items of possibly different types into a single type.
Declaration:
We have to declare structure in C before using it in our program. In
structure declaration, we specify its member variables along with their
datatype. We can use the struct keyword to declare the structure in C

Example:

struct address
{
char name[50],char street[100];
int pin;
}stud;
POINTERS :
/07
A pointer is defined as a derived data type that can store the address of
other C variables or a memory location. We can access and manipulate
the data stored in that memory location using pointers.
Syntax:
datatype * ptr ;
data stored in that memory location using pointers
Strings:
STRING: is a sequence of characters terminated with a null
character '\0’.
Syntax: char name [15];

INTILISATION :
char name[15] = ‘’computer”;
char name[15] = {‘s’,’c’,’i’,’e’,’n’,’c’,’e’,’\0’};
Outcomes of Advanced C Programming :
/08

We can write C programs to meet the specifications of a given application.

We can implement C program, interpret, debug and test the same.
We can implement C programs related to real time applications.

WEEK 2:

Advanced Computer Skills

1. Mail Merging
2. Hyperlinks
3. Fillable forms and MS excel
4. Power point
5. Google forms And Certify’m
Advanced Computer Skills
/10
MAIL MERGING :

Mail merge lets you create a batch of documents that are personalized for each recipient. For example, a

form letter might be personalized to address each recipient by name. A data source, like a list, spreadsheet,

or database, is associated with the document.

HYPERLINK :

Hyperlink is a digital reference to data that the user can follow or be guided by clicking or tapping. A

hyperlink points to a whole document or to a specific element within a document.

Steps creating Hyperlink:

Select the text or picture that you want to display as a hyperlink. Press Ctrl + K. You can also right-click

the text or picture and click Link on the shortcut menu. In the Insert Hyperlink box,

type or paste your link in the Address box

Steps: /11

Mail merging Hyperlink

FILLABLE FORMS: /12
Fillable forms are versions of frequently used or modified documents that are
available in electronic format for easy editing. Each form is a Microsoft word
document formatted and locked to allow you to easily enter your data.

MS Excel
MS excel is a spreadsheet program where one can record data in the form of tables. It is
easy to analyse data in an Excel spreadsheet
MS POWER POINT :
/13
Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program, created by Robert

Gaskins and Dennis

Microsoft PowerPoint is great presentation software designed by

Microsoft sometimes abbreviated as PP or PPT. PowerPoint is well

utilized to create a slideshow of valuable information through

charts, and images for a presentation. It is commonly practiced in

business and school presentations.It is an absolute presentation

graphics package that gives you everything needed to create a

professional-looking presentation. PowerPoint offers word

processing, drawing, outlining, graphing, and presentation

management tools.
GOOGLE FORMS:
/14
Google Forms is a free online tool from Google which allows users to create forms, surveys, and
quizzes as well as to collaboratively edit and share the forms with other people. Educators can use
Google forms to assess their students at the beginning of the class and gauge pre-existing
knowledge. Furthermore, Google forms can be used to give feedback to and receive feedback from
students and parents. Similarly, students can use Google forms to assess their own learning and set
the learning goals as well as to collect data for their research projects.
Certify’m:
Certify’em lets you leverage the power of Google Forms to create online certifications and email
custom certificates to exam-takers. Certify'em will automatically send certificates to students when
they get a minimum score on a quiz conducted with Google Forms. You set the minimum passing
score that triggers the delivery of the certificate. If students achieve that score or more, a
personalized certificate is sent to them via email or Google Drive.
/15
OUTCOMES OF ADVANCED COMPUTER SKILLS

1.Create technical documentation.

2. Create a simple fillable forms

3. Prepare technical presentations using any open source

presentation tools.

4.Prepare spreadsheets,insert formulas,insert hyperlinks

5. Design Banners, certificates using canvas.

6. Generate E-Certificates using Google forms

Automotive Technologies

• AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENT DETAILS, TRANSMISSION,

CHASSIS, WHEELS AND TRYES.
• AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRIC SYSTEMS ,BRAKING SYSTEMS
AND STEERING CONTROL SYSTEMS.
• POWER SOURCE IN I.C.E VEHICLE AND ELECTRICAL
VEHICLES.
AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENT DETAILS, TRANSMISSION, /17
CHASSIS, WHEELS AND TRYES.

• Automobile Body or Superstructure: In case of integral or frameless

construction, the body is an integral part of the chassis. But, in case of the
conventional chassis, the body or superstructure is made after receiving
the chassis from the manufacturer.
• Transmission system : is used in motor vehicles to supply the output of
the internal combustion engine to the drive wheels. The transmission
reduces the higher engine speed to the slower wheel speed, increasing
Major Systems and Components of an Automobile 67 torque in the
process. Transmissions are also used in pedal bicycles, fixed machines
and where rotational speed and torque need to be adapted.
AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRIC SYSTEMS ,BRAKING /18
SYSTEMS AND STEERING CONTROL SYSTEMS.
BRAKING SYSTEM :
• Foot Brake: Foot brake is one of the most common brake systems operated by the foot pedal. When pressure
is applied to the foot pedal, the vehicle stops.
• Hand Brake: Hand brakes are usually used for stable parking of the vehicle either a on flat road or slope.
They are also called parking brakes. Hand brakes are connected to the brake mechanism directly and the
other end is operated by the driver.
• Drum Brakes or Internal Expanding Brakes: Drum brakes are usually used as rear brakes in most
automobiles, which utilises the friction between the drum and the brake shoes to stop the vehicle.
• Disc Brake or External Contracting Brakes: It is the type of braking system in which instead of a drum
assembly a disc rotor is attached to the hub of the wheel in such a fashion that it rotates with the wheel .
Similarly Vacuum Brake, Air Brake, Hydraulic Brakes, Anti-lock Braking System.
POWER SOURCE IN I.C.E VEHICLE AND ELECTRICAL /19
VEHICLES(EV’S) :

• An engine is complex unit in which different components are assembled together,

and fuel is burned to produce power or energy. The engine converts chemical energy
(heat energy) into mechanical energy, which is then utilised for vehicular movement.
