OBJECTIVES

• The Internet of things (IOT) is remodeling the agriculture

enabling the farmers with the wide range of techniques such
as precision and sustainable agriculture.
• IOT technology helps in collecting information about
conditions like weather, moisture, temperature and fertility of
soil, crop growth, agriculture.
• Wireless sensor networks are used for monitoring the farm
conditions.
• To view remotely the conditions in the form of image and
video, wireless cameras have been used.
• A smart phone empowers farmer to keep updated with the
ongoing conditions of his agricultural land .
EXISTING SYSTEM
• Traditional farming techniques and manual monitoring of
crops.
• Manual switching on and off of irrigation pumps to water the
crops periodically.
• Any plant affected by pest has to be identified manually. It is
hard to look after large area of the crop field.
• Drones are also used to monitor the health condition of crops
but it is little hard to picturize the affected crops.
DRAWBACKS OF EXISTING SYSTEM
• Traditional farming techniques a lot of man power. Man power
is wasted in this method.
• The person has to keep an eye on the water level of the crops.
The crops might go dry or if the pump is not closed at the
correct time, water might be wasted.
• It is very hard and time consuming to look after the health of
the crops.
• Usage of drones is quite hard because it requires some skills to
control them and mostly it provides only the top view.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• A collection of soil testing reports are pre-processed to generate
training data sets . These are subjected to data mining techniques.
• Finally decisions tracked based on group characterization rules
implemented. The training data samples Mineral ratios, crop
cultivation
• Here two interfaces will be created, one for admin and another
one for user . The admin can upload the dataset for data analytics
process and user can view all the analyzed data by the user .
• Now the farmer can predict the cultivation and rotation crop
process for their field according to their live data.
LIST OF MODULES

• Hardware Interface
• COMM port Communication
• Data Upload
• Configuring a Centralized cloud Server
• Data Verification
.
DESCRIPTION OF MODULES
Hardware Interface
• The entire hardware and sensor interface will be available and
PIC or Arudino Microcontroller has been used for efficient
sensor interface.
• It supports multiple sensor interface model. All sensors will be
embedded with LCD for offline communication.
COMM port Communication
• COMM port is meant as communication port. This module
interface hardware unit with PC.
• The communication has been done through RS232 tool.
• Using Hyper terminal the data from the sensor unit will be sent
.
Data Upload
• In order to implement IOT, here sensor data were used. A set of
data from corresponding sensor information will be used .
• Uploading is the transmission of a file from one computer system
to another. From a network user's point-of-view, to upload a file is
to send it to another computer that is set up to receive it.
• Uploaded data will be stored in the web server. Here we are
uploading the data set in a cloud server.
Configuring a Centralized cloud Server
• It offers a platform for developers that enable them to easily
capture sensor data and turn it into useful information.
• All the values are displayed to the user with corresponding date
and time and hence values can be viewed at any time by the user
• The threshold values can be set on the platform hence an email or
sms can be sent to the user when it reaches threshold values.
. Verification
Data
• This is a user define function models where admin and user can
interact.
• In technical it is said to be the application layer, where all the data
were verified and viewed by the users.
•According to the architecture design, user and admin will be
available in the application layer, business layer will be decision
making layer and all data will available in the data layer.
WORKING PRINCIPLES
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
•LM35.
•Output voltage is linearly proportional to the Celsius
temperature.
•Temperature range is -55 to 150 degree Celsius.

MOISTURE SENSOR
•Common type is frequency domain sensor.
•Neutron moisture guage.
•In this sensor we are using 2 probes to be dipped into soil we
will get analog output variations from 0.60 – 12 volts.
•Input voltage 12 VDC.
HUMIDITY SENSOR

•ATmega328p gets a result of throughputs approaching 1MIPS per

MHz which allows the system designer to find optimize power
consumption versus processing speed.

GSM MODULE

•The SIM900 can be embedded in many of the applications .

•SIM900 has the capability of delivering GSM/GPRS
850/900/1600/1900 MHZ performance for voice , SMS and requires
low power consumption GSM900 has a small configuration of
24mm*24mm*3mm.
•Can be fit in nearly all the space requirement in M2M applications
as there is slim and compact demand of design.
•System uses sensor to measure the relative parameter in order to give
water to crops.
•Output of sensor measured are analog in nature the system makes use
of ADC which is inbuilt in microcontroller.
•These digital signals at microcontroller 328P then use GSM module
for communication.
•Microcontroller sends the measured values as message to farmer
using GSM module.
•Microcontroller sends measured value of different parameter and
according to that water will be given to the crops.
