Characteristics in Secondary School Students and Tertiary School Students that made them differ:

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

Secondary

1. Interests shift from solitary to group pursuits.


2. Having the “right” or “in” clothing becomes particularly important.
3. Vocational interests become more prominent and realistic
4. Concerns about social issues develops.
5. Beginning of a truer sense of self develops.
6. Strong attitudes toward religious, ethnic, and racial groups begin.

 PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

Secondary
1.Rapid weight gain at beginning of adolescence; enormous appetite

-Different Types of Changes Occuring Physically and Psychologically During
Adolescence-
1. Physical development-During adolescence, the body usually experiences a growth in spurt,
which is a time of very growth on height and weight. Puberty which also happens during adolescence
is the time period of maturation where sexual organs mature.
2. COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
Adolescence is known for being a time for teens to assert their independence from
family and begin to make decisions on their own.

3. PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

During this time, adolescents have more complex thinking abilities and can start to see
how they are different from others and from their family. Issues around self-esteem are
common as they begin to differentiate themselves from others while also experiencing
physical changes in their body.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

Tertiary
Early adulthood: peak physical development has usually been
achieved. Good strenght coordination skills, quick reaction times,
sexual peak. May include parenthood.
