Can you identify these polygons?

Polygons
Polygons
- closed, two-dimensional
figures composed of line
segments.
Polygons
- enclosed figure formed by at
least three lines segments
meeting from end to end
Polygons
- comes from the Greek word
polus meaning many and gonia
meaning corner or angle
Polygons
- are classified according to the
number of segments called sides
Regular Polygons
- All sides are equal
(equilateral) and all angles are
equal (equiangular).
Irregular Polygons
- Not equilateral or equiangular
or both.
Concave Polygons
- Not all the points of the
segment are within the
polygons.
Convex Polygons
- if and only if the lines
containing the sides of the
polygon do not have a point in
the interior.
• To determine whether a polygon is a
concave or convex, connect any two non-
consecutive vertices of the polygon. If the
segment does not contain any exterior point,
then it is a convex polygon. Otherwise, it is
a concave polygon.

Triangles
Triangles
- polygons which
has three sides and
three angles
Classification of
Triangles
According to Sides
Isosceles
- two sides are
equal
Equilateral
- three sides
are equal
Scalene
- no sides are
equal
Classification of
Triangles
According to Angles
Right
- contains 1
right angle
Acute
- all angles in
the triangle are
acute
Obtuse
- has one obtuse
angle
