P2 – “Investigate your own skills”
You should have already completed this last
week.
There are different ways to assess a skill or opinion eg in surveys
▪ Likert scale
▪ Semantic differential scale
▪ Observation
▪ Questionnaire
▪ Appraisal
Likert Scale – psychometric scale commonly used in
questionnaires
• Respondents have to be indicate the level of
agreement or disagreement they have with
the topic.
This scale offers extremely opposite adjectives on each end of the scale due to which
the respondents can precisely explain their feedback that can be used for making
accurate judgments from the survey.
• Is not pre-judgemental
• Can measure emotions
& feelings
• Will still allow for
extremes.
Other methods to assess performance or give feedback
• Observations
• Appraisal
• Focus groups
In your P2 skills audit will use some of these methods to assess your
own skills.
Later in the unit you will need to get audience feedback on your event so
we will come back to these methods of gaining feedback.
Carry out your own skills audit (P2)
