WHAT IF IT FINISHES…?

VEHICLES
OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON

To understand the importance of fuel

in our daily life.
To recognize that fuel is a non-
renewable natural resource
To understand that money cannot buy
biofuels once it is over
We have to use it sensibly
Fuel
Fuel is any material that is capable of
releasing energy when its chemical or
physical structure is altered.
HOW IT RELEASES ENERGY ?

Fuel releases its energy either through

chemical means, such as burning, or
nuclear means, such as nuclear fission
or nuclear fusion. An important property
of a useful fuel is that its energy can be
stored to be released only when
needed, and that the release is
controlled in such a way that the energy
can be harnessed to produce work.
Let us look at two common types of
fuel in our daily life, i.e Petrol & Diesel
WHAT IS PETROL ?

Petrol is basically used as a fuel in

engines especially automobiles.
Petrol contains aliphatic
hydrocarbons along with iso-octane,
toluene, benzene etc. Along with that
it may also contain ethanol .It is
basically a refined substance as it is
refined.

What is diesel ?

Diesel is a fuel derived from

petroleum but heavier than
gasoline/petrol. Used to power diesel
engines which burn this fuel using the
heat produced when air is
compressed.
Let us look at some pictures of petrol

Sources of petrol and diesel
Petrol is made from crude oil. Crude oil is
made up off fossil fuel which is made up of
prehistoric tree's , plants, and maybe
animals but mainly the green life, this then
is compressed on top of each other, after
billions of years the amount is epic. And
this then becomes what we called today as
crude oil, then it is refined into petrol/diesel
in different types of grades.
Now let us look at some of the
pictures at how petrol and diesel are
used up
To ride an auto, you have to sweat it
out.
OUR PAST & ALSO OUR
FUTURE
May be someday we have to ride a
Bull’s Bike
Or enjoy a horse driven car.
Let us face the stark reality

The pictures depicted clearly

indicates that the life on this earth will
change if the existing fuels are used
up. These are only some indications
of what situation will mankind face if it
finishes.
If it finishes…..!
Many industrial units will be closed.
Many people will be out of
employment.
All the means of transport &
communication will be affected.
The world will be going back to the
era of carts & bullocks
Development & growth of mankind
will be halted
Consequences

We have pointed out only a few

instances of the impact of life on this
world if petrol or diesel finishes.
What can we do?

In order to save ourselves from such

a situation, we have to make
ourselves aware of the effects of NO
PETROL OR NO DIESEL.
Spread awareness

A campaign should be launched to

check the unwanted or unnecessary
misuse of the fuels in our daily life.
We have to start immediately before it
is too late.
