Bloom’s Taxonomy
• Bloom's taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical models used
for the classification of educational learning objectives into
levels of complexity and specificity. The three lists cover the
learning objectives in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor
domains.

Cognitive Affective Psychomotor

Bloom’s Taxonomy
Merrill’s Principles Of Instruction

• Learners are engaged in solving real-world problems.

• Existing knowledge is activated as a foundation for new knowledge.
• New knowledge is demonstrated to the learner.
• New knowledge is applied by the learner.
• New knowledge is integrated into the learner’s world.
Gagne’s Nine Events Of Instructions
1. Gain the attention of the students/employees

2. Inform students of the objectives

3. Stimulate recall of prior learning

4. Present the content

5. Provide learning guidance

6. Elicit performance (practice)

7. Provide feedback

8. Assess performance

9. Enhance retention and transfer

Kemp Design Model
(April 23, 1921 – November 26, 2015)

1. Identify instructional problems, and specify goals for designing an

instructional program.
2. Examine learner characteristics that should receive attention during
planning.
3. Identify subject content, and analyze task components related to
stated goals and purposes.
4. State instructional objectives for the learner.
5. Sequence content within each instructional unit for logical learning.
6. Design instructional strategies so that each learner can master the
objectives.
7. Plan the instructional message and delivery.
8. Develop evaluation instruments to assess objectives.
9. Select resources to support instruction and learning activities.
The Kirkpatrick Training Model
(March 15, 1924 – May 9, 2014)
Four Levels of Learning Evaluation

Reaction - The degree to which participants find the training favorable,

engaging, and relevant to their jobs
Learning – The degree to which participants acquire the intended knowledge,
skills, attitude, confidence, and commitment based on their participation in the
training
Behavior - The degree to which participants apply what they learned during
training when they are back on the job
Results - The degree to which targeted outcomes occur as a result of the
training and the support and accountability package
