HISTORY

Today’s giant had modest beginnings, but grew rapidly after it was set up by Mr Vallabhbhai Patel, Mr Babubhai Patel and Mr Mavjibhai Patel.
In 1985, it began diamond manufacturing operations, and ever since there has been steady expansion both in India and globally, with advances
both in terms of the range of product offerings as well as quality and service.

Today, Kiran Group has its offices, trading and manufacturing units in Mumbai, Surat, UAE and USA.

The Group has a number of specialized manufacturing units and is the largest user of advanced hi-tech manufacturing
systems in the diamond industry. It manufactures and exports both rounds and fancies in all shapes, colors, clarities and
sizes from the smallest upto 3.00 carats.

Mavjibhai Patel
MANAGING DIRECTOR
A first-generation entrepreneur of Kiran Gems, Mr. Patel is a charismatic business leader with over three decades of
experience. His vision in the spheres of finance and strategy gave thrust and direction to the Group’s expansion plans
globally, and his grasp of marketing and distribution guided the entry into varied global markets. With his skill and expertise
in handling the financial aspects of the business, Mr Patel oversees the Group’s Global Finance and Business Development
operations, but continues to firmly believe that “learning is a continuous process”.

Dinesh Lakhani
GLOBAL DIRECTOR
Having entered the diamond business at the young age of 17, Mr Lakhani is a self-made entrepreneur who learnt the skills
required to lead a global business entirely on the job. The hands-on experience he gained by personally working in every
department – from rough assortment, mapping, planning, cleaving, bruting and sawing to polishing, grading and sales, has
helped him emerge as a highly respected and much loved leader. Alongside he also completed a diamond grading course and
received training in sales as well as leadership development and management, enabling him to develop a prowess in
managing business finances and making financial projections.
Mr Lakhani is well known for his problem solving abilities and his leadership in formulating strategies and ensuring their
implementation. As Global Director of Sales, he is responsible for the Group’s marketing strategies, global sales, and
distribution of loose diamonds. He is credited for developing the company’s global network, restructuring certain operations
to enhance the quality of client servicing, developing employee welfare programs, and playing a key role in the rise of Kiran
Gems to its No 1 position in the industry.
Mr Lakhani’s core belief is to “work intelligently and vigorously at a given task and complete it with maximum efficiency”,
as this enables both the company and its clients to grow.
FACILITIES
• Let’s start with the size of facilities, which are the largest in the world. With a huge number of specialized manufacturing units covering a
significant area, Kiran processes a massive amount of Natural Rough diamonds and is the World’s Largest Manufacturer of Polished Natural
Diamonds each year

• Clearly this provides employment on a truly humungous scale. Yet, apart from the actual numbers, what stands out is the rigorous training
and continuous on-job upskilling processes that company has put in place. It results in a team that is committed to excellence, practiced and
works with precision and maintains schedules with strict discipline.
Heavy investment in technology brings in the final ingredient. Kiran is the largest user of advanced tech systems in the diamond industry
worldwide. We are the only large company globally to do 100% of planning and marking of rough diamonds on Sarine machines. And
Kiran were the first to install AMS and M-Screen machines.
This combination of scale and skills has enabled them to reach the ultimate pinnacle of success.
PRODUCTS
• CERTIFIED DIAMONDS

• Kiran offers certified round brilliant diamonds in clarities ranging from IF to SI2 and sizes 0.18 carats to 3.00 carats in 3VG Up (Cut, Polish and Symmetry)
including a significant number of Triple-Excellent cut stones. Fancy shape diamonds are offered in clarities ranging from IF to SI2 and in sizes 0.30 carats to 3
carats.

• NON-CERTIFIED DIAMONDS

• Kiran offers non-certified diamonds in round and fancy shapes ranging from IF to Pique and sizes 0.005 carats size to 3 carats with superior makes. 95% of the
goods offered are white round brilliant diamonds and 10% to 12% are of fancy shapes.
