In Korean, you can change
a verb into its negative
form by adding the prefix
‘ 안’ (an) or ‘ 못’ (mot) to
the verb stem.
– 안 : This prefix is used when
you want to negate the verb
without implying that there
was an attempt or effort
involved.
– 못 : This prefix is used when
you want to indicate that
someone is physically or
mentally incapable of
performing the action.

= 안 가요
(not go)
•안 + 마셔요
= 안 마셔요 –
“not drink”
•안 + 자요
= 안 자요
