THE EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING ON THE

ENVIRONMENT
Global warming refers to the increase of the mean temperature of the
air near the surface of the earth and oceans, which started in the mid-
20th century as well as its anticipated prolongation. Consequently, the
planet might as well become inhospitable to harbor life in future, due
to the rising global warming that is accompanied by catastrophic events
that might cause extinction of life. The outcome of global
warming has been exhibit by the melting of ice and snows in areas such
as Antarctic which has change the average sea level of the whole world.
There is sufficient evidence that recent climate change is a result of
human activities such as Deforestation, Mining, pollution caused by
cars, Industrial Plants, improper waste disposal, etc. 9729, otherwise
known as the 'Climate Change Act 2009', and for other purposes. An
Act mainstreaming climate change into government policy formulation,
establishing the framework strategy and program climate change,
The Philippines is experiencing sea-level rise, which is threatening more
than 40% of the population that live in coastal areas. The rising sea
levels are causing increased flooding, erosion, and salinization of
freshwater resources. The Philippine's rich but increasingly deplete
natural resources provide critical protection against the impacts of
climate change, offering shoreline protection, flood control, soil
stability, and habitats for biodiversity. They also play a critical role in the
Philippine economy. Without action, the World Bank estimates that
annual economic damages from climate change in the Philippines could
reach 13.6 percent of the country’s gross domestic product. The
country also faces a looming energy crisis, as its natural gas supply is
rapidly being depleted. As global energy prices rise, the Philippines will
need to increase its domestic clean energy infrastructure or face higher
imported energy prices and more blackouts.
Here in Surigao City, the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR) conduct reforestation and waste management
program to lessen global warming and pollution. Somehow in every
Barangay they have a project to help clean their community and help
the Local Government Unit (LGU) to implement its program which is
the proper waste disposal.

RATIONALE
The primary objective of this research to inform people that due to
wrong activities the environment has been affected and they need to
be responsible for disposing of their waste
