THE KIT

1
For the 11th year running, the Major Projects Division is organising
its Safety Week during Safety Day(s).

This event will bring together all employees from our various projects around the
world to discuss a specific health & safety theme, divided into 3 sub-topics.
The aim is to continue to advance our safety culture at all levels and achieve
the ultimate goal of "zero accident".

The Safety Day(s) 2024 are intended to be innovative: at the end of this safety
week, we want to use best practices, initiatives put in place on your projects,
ideas and proposals for improvement to carry out an in-depth review of our
operating rules, in line with HSE standards.

The Safety Day(s) 2024 kit contains all the information you need to help you
organise the week.

Part I:
Our theme and its sub-topics

In previous Safety Weeks, we have discussed the five key stages of the “Productive
and Safe” scheme from the Major Projects Division.

As a reminder, last year VINCI Construction's theme was "managing change in an

activity", which is a major source of accidents within the group and the division. In
the Major Projects Division, we worked on the second stage of the “Productive and
Safe” scheme: Work procedures.

Part I:
Our theme and its sub-topics

For this 11th edition, VINCI Construction and the Major Projects Division have
decided to focus on one of our 3 sources of fatal accidents, serious accidents and
High Potential events (HiPo) over recent years:
The machine-pedestrian interaction.

Theme of Safety Day(s) 2024:

Machine-Pedestrian interactions*: Let's reinforce our actions!

• In your projects, feel free to expand this topic to include Human/Machine

interaction, which is broader and can also encompass vehicles, material storage
areas, etc.

Part I:
Our theme and its sub-topics

Some of you will have recognised that the Safety Day(s) 2024 theme was already
present at the 2023 event as a secondary theme.

Interactions between machines and pedestrians are omnipresent in our working

environment. In order to cover as many issues as possible, we have defined
3 sub-topics:
Sub-topic 1: Communication between machine drivers (machine
operator) and people on the ground

Sub-topic 2: Guiding ground manoeuvres

Sub-topic 3: detection methods available

The twofold aim of this week will be to raise awareness of this major everyday risk
and to improve our approach to and management of it. We need to significantly
improve our performance.

The Health and Safety Departments of the Major Projects Division have transcribed
our rules and operating procedures into a good practices guide for machines-
pedestrians interactions. This will be the cornerstone of Safety Day(s) 2024.

Your contribution through your feedback will be essential to optimize this

guide, which will be deployed in each entity of the Major Projects Division.

 Machine-pedestrian interaction is one of the 3 sources of fatal

accidents, serious accidents and HiPo for VINCI Construction
and the Major Projects Division.
 Machine-pedestrian interaction accounts for 1 in three significant
accidents (HiPo or serious accident).
