TESTIS
• Testis is covered by tunica vaginalis, tunica albuginea & tunica
vasculosa.
• Consists of 200 -300 incomplete lobules.
• Each lobule contains 2-3 highly coiled seminiferous tubules.
• Seminiferous tubules lined by spermatogenic cells & sertoli cells.
• Leydig cells are polyhedral , eosinophilic cells present between the
adjacent seminiferous tubules.

• A comma shaped structure present postero-superior to testis.
• Lined by Pseudostratified Columnar epithelium with stereocilia. Having
tall principal cells and short basal cells.
• Presence of thin circular smooth muscle layer.

• Continuation of ductus epididymis.
MUCOSA- Thrown into longitudinal folds. Lined by pseudo-stratified
columnar epithelium.
Lamina propria contains elastic fibers.
MUSCLE LAYER – Inner & outer longitudinal with middle thick circular
smooth muscle layers.
Adventitia- Loose areolar connective tissue layer.
PROSTATE
PROSTATE
• Consists of 30-50 tubule-alveolar glands embedded in fibro-muscular
stroma.
• Glands arranged in 3 concentric groups – Inner mucosal glands,
intermediate submucosal glands & larger peripheral glands. All open
into urethra.
• Glands are lined by simple columnar epithelium with microvilli or
pseudostratified epithelium.
• CORPORA AMYLACEA /AMYLOID BODIES / PROSTATIC CONCRETION –
Calcified concentric layers of condensed prostatic secretions.

MUCOSA :
Intricate foldings (Primary & secondary) having irregular cavities (
Mucosal crypts) open to central cavity. Lined by pseudostratified
columnar epithelium.
Lamina Propria - Elastic fibre with loose connective tissue.
MUSCLE LAYER - Inner circular & outer longitudinal smooth muscle
layers.
ADVENTITIA - Connective tissue.
