THE IMPACTS OF TECHNOLOGY IN

THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENTS AT PALALI NATIONAL
HIGH SCHOOL.
INTRODUCTION
Technology has become an integral part of education, and its influence on the student’s
academic performance can be both positive and negative. The positive side, technology
provides students with access to a vast amount of information and resources. The
internet allows students to conduct research, access educational materials, and engage
in online learning platforms. This easy access to information can enhance students’
learning experiences and improve their academic performance.
In addition, Technology profoundly impacts education by providing easy access to
information through the internet, fostering interactive and personalized learning
experiences, facilitating collaboration and communication among students and
educators, and offering enhanced teaching tools. It also improves accessibility for
students with disabilities, reduces costs through digital materials and open educational
resources, and connects learning to real-world applications.
Furthermore, Technology enables data-driven decision-making, supports lifelong
learning opportunities, and empowers individuals to continue their educational journey
beyond traditional boundaries.
Overall, technology revolutionizes education by making it more engaging, accessible, and
tailored to individual needs, while also equipping learners with essential skills for the digital
age.

However, technology is popular among students because it helps them do less

work. Technology may likely influence students to cheat rather than answering based on their
learning. Several students tried to cheat in the exams and quizzes by sneaking their cellphones
and different gadgets into lectures. Technology is of high convenience; technology is now being
overused to the point that it gives negative effects to its user.

While technology offers vast opportunities for learning, students may face challenges such as
spending excessive time online, a temptation to cheat, and potential addiction. It's essential for
students to responsibly manage their use of technology, viewing it as a tool to aid learning rather
than the center of their lives. Encouraging digital literacy, critical thinking, and balance between
technology and academics is crucial for students' success in the digital age.

After all, this study is to determine the impact of technology on the academic performance of
