What is IOT?

IOT Stands for Internet of things, The term 'Internet of Things' was coined in 1999 by the computer
scientist Kevin.
Its the way of connecting physical objects through the internet to the other device
Internet of thing means the time when things or objects are more connected to the internet rather than people
The things are defined as objects that can be the person or automobile with a built-in sensors having IP
addresses with the ability to collect and transfer the data over the internet .
The IOT Life Cycle

Four Stages of Iot life cycle

Collect:
The Life cycle of IOT starts with collecting data from different sources deployed in a particular region

Communication:
This phase involves a secure and reliable transfer of data. plays major role in establishing communication between devices
The IOT Life Cycle

Analysis:
This phase is important part of the IoT life cycle. In this phase data collected from different sensors or devices are been analyzed

Act:
This is the final stage of IoT life cycle. Information obtained by the analysis of sensor data is acted upon and proper actions and measures are
taken based on the analysis result
Architecture of IOT (Internet of Things)

Five Stages of IoT Architecture

Stages of IoT Architecture

Perception/Device/Physical/Sensor layer:
• The perception layer represents the physical devices
themselves.
• Physical objects like sensors and actuators used to gather
data.
Stages of IoT Architecture

Network/Transport layer:
• It manages data transfer between smart devices
• Provides communication and connectivity between devices.
• Responsibility: Provide network connectivity for servers and
smarter devices
• Examples: BT, WIFI, Cellular Networks Such as 4G & 5G

Processing layer:
• Data is analyzed and stored here before being sent to the data
center
• Data is monitored and managed and further actions are also
prepared
• Responsibility: Receive raw data from devices and process
the data and make data available for further analysis
Stages of IoT Architecture

 Application/Integration layer:
• Integrates Data together that consist user friendly interface
and functionality and then given to the business
• Responsible: Delivering application services ,It manages
the processing, analytics, and storage of all application
data
• This layer involves various software and applications like
Web portal, Mobile Apps etc.

Business layer:
• Manages the whole IOT system, including applications,
business and profit models and users privacy
• Layer directly interacts with the end users

Smarter living devices connected with Xiaomi Home App

 To control Xiaomi Smart devices by your Android, iOS, or Google Assistant, you will need to link your Mi Device
with Xiaomi Home app
 Xiaomi Home is the only app that manages Xiaomi smart home products. It is used to manage and communicate
with device.
