BEING NICE VS BEING KIND
• While being kind and being nice share some similarities, there are some key differences between the two concepts.
Here are a few differences:
• 1. MOTIVATION: Being nice is often motivated by a desire to please others or to avoid conflict. Being kind, on the
other hand, is motivated by a genuine concern for others and a desire to help them.
• 2. AUTHENTICITY: Being nice may involve putting on a pleasant façade, even if you don't really feel that way.
Being kind, however, is genuine and comes from the heart.
• 3. SCOPE: Being nice is often focused on superficial interactions, like greeting someone with a smile or saying
"please" and "thank you." Being kind, on the other hand, can involve deeper actions, like listening to someone's
problems or offering to help in a significant way.
• 4. LONG-TERM IMPACT: Being nice may feel good in the moment, but it may not have a lasting impact on the
other person. Being kind, however, can create positive change and have a lasting impact on both the receiver and the
giver.
• In summary, BEING NICE IS FOCUSED ON SURFACE-LEVEL INTERACTIONS AND IS OFTEN
MOTIVATED BY A DESIRE TO BE LIKED, while BEING KIND IS FOCUSED ON GENUINE CONCERN
FOR OTHERS AND MAKING A MEANINGFUL IMPACT ON THEIR LIVES.
PERSPECTIVES ON WHETHER KINDNESS IS
DISAPPEARING FROM AMONG US OR NOT?
• THERE ARE varying perspectives on whether kindness is disappearing from our society. ON ONE HAND, some
argue that people are becoming more self-centered and less willing to help others. There are concerns over social
media and technology contributing to a decrease in face-to-face communication and connection, which can impact
people's ability to empathize and show kindness. Additionally, some people believe that the rise in polarization and
conflicts over political and social issues contributes to a lack of kindness and empathy among individuals.

• ON THE OTHER HAND, many people also argue that kindness still exists and is actually on the rise in some
ways. There are countless examples of people showing kindness and compassion to others in times of need,
whether it's through volunteering, donating to charity, or random acts of kindness. Studies have also shown that
younger generations are more likely to prioritize kindness and compassion as important values in their lives.
• PERSONALY, I think…

• OVERALL, whether kindness is disappearing or not is a subject of debate and perspective. However, it's
important to continue to promote kindness and empathy in our daily lives and encourage others to do the same.
OPINION 1: KINDNESS STILL EXISTS /NOT DISAPPEARING/IT IS JUST LESS
PREVALENT

• Yes, kindness still exists in society. People show acts of kindness to each other every day, whether it's through
volunteering, donating to charity, helping a friend in need, or simply being kind to a stranger. Research has
shown that acts of kindness have numerous benefits, including increased happiness and well-being for both the
giver and recipient.

• Furthermore, there are many organizations and movements dedicated to promoting and encouraging kindness
in society, such as Random Acts of Kindness and Kindness.org. Social media and the internet have also made it
easier for people to connect and spread kindness on a larger scale.

• While it's true that there are still instances of cruelty and unkindness in society, it's important to remember that
kindness is a choice that anyone can make at any time. By practicing kindness in our daily lives, we can
contribute to making our communities and society a more positive and compassionate place to live.
THERE IS A PERCEPTION THAT KINDNESS IS DISAPPEARING.THIS COULD BE DUE TO…

• However, there are various factors that can contribute to the perception that kindness is disappearing in society.

• One possible reason is the impact of technology and social media. While technology has brought us many great advancements, it has also
led to a decrease in face-to-face interactions and increased isolation. This often leads to more selfish behavior and less emphasis on
empathy and kindness towards others.

• Additionally, society today is known for being competitive and individualistic, which can make people prioritize their own interests over
those of others. Social, political, and economic pressures can also cause people to feel stressed and anxious, which can result in less
kindness towards others.

• Furthermore, a lot of people have the perception that kindness is a sign of weakness or passiveness. Also, some individuals may have
experienced negative life experiences, such as abuse, bullying, or trauma, which can lead to a lack of trust in others and an aversion to
kindness.

• These factors can make people less likely to show kindness towards others, but it is still important to remember that kindness is a choice
that everyone can make.
