6 : When
OFa CAPITALISATION
common noun is used alongwith a
proper noun then the letters of both common
and proper noun will start with a capital letter.

Eg: Jia is going to a park.

Jia is going to Joggers Park.

Eg: These children are studying in school.

These children are studying in Jamnabai Narsee School.

Eg: Ranbeer went to the airport.

Ranbeer went to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International
Airport.
 RULES OF CAPITALISATION
Rule 7 : A designation or a title will start with a capital
letter but not when used generally.
Eg: Dr. Abhishek Shah is a very friendly.
Yes he is a very good doctor.

Eg: Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was a great leader.

India needs a good prime minister.

Eg: Colonel Geeta Rana is the 1st woman army officer.

All colonels praise her a lot.
 RULES OF CAPITALISATION
Rule 8 : Celestial names start with a capital letter.
However, earth, moon and sun is not
capital unless it is named with all the
planets.

Eg: Saturn is known as a ring planet.

Eg: There is life on earth.

Eg: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,

Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are planets.
 RULES OF CAPITALISATION
Rule 9 : Relations are only capitalised when they refer to a
specific person and not modified by a personal pronoun

Eg: I asked my mom, and Mom said she is not

coming to tea.

Eg: My sister and I went to Dad’s office and our

dad was working very hard.

Eg: Every Grandparent plays a very important role.

I am very close to my grandparents.
