Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe illustrator is a graphic editing program well-suited to creating Graphics
from scratch. It is significantly different from many other Graphics programs
because it deals primarily with vector graphics. Most people are more familiar
with bitmap (raster) graphics, such as What photoshop produces.

Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
• Illustrator is one of the best vector- editing software on the earth.
• It is also one most power full and flexible vector tool available on any platform.
• Illustrator format (AI) is the default file format which stands for Adobe
Illustrator Artwork, that Illustrator uses for saving data.
• AI, EPS, & PDF are proprietary files that allows the user to work with the adobe
illustrator, even after the file has been saved.
• Adobe Illustrator is used to create a variety of digital and printed images,
including Cartoons, Charts Diagrams, Logos, Illustrations, Design Needs and
etc.

• Adobe Illustrator Workspace consists 8 main components which are:
• Application Bar
• Workspace Switcher
• Menu Bar
• Options Bar (Control Panel)
• Tools Panel
• Document Window
• Panel Bar
• Status Bar

• Application(Menu) Bar: It contains various menu options for Illustrator’s tools
and sits on the top of your Illustrator window.

• Workspace Switcher: Switches the layout and look of the environment.

• Menu Bar: It contains various menu options for Illustrator’s tools.

• Options Bar (Control Panel): It contains Illustrator’s tool options and sits below
the menu bar.

• Tools Panel: It contains the major tools of Illustrator and it sits to the left of your
Illustrator window.

• Document Window: It’s where displays the file you’re working on which is the
large area in the center of the interface. The actual area where the file is visible is
known as the Artwork.

• Panel Bar: It hold information or options for working with your file and floats on
the right-hand side.

• Status Bar: Displays a variety of information about your project or your selected
tool.

vector shapes / paths.
